About Us

Every good local has a story - ours goes way back.

It began in 1876, when this corner first opened as the Bellevue Hotel. In 1900 James Kavanaugh gave the place its new name - The Sackville - after his hometown in Scotland. When he passed in 1903, his wife took the reins, and The Sacky has been at the heart of Rozelle ever since.

Throughout the years we've refreshed and evolved, but The Sackville stays true to what a great pub should be: welcoming, familiar, and made for sharing moments. We've always been a place to pull up a chair, share a feed, swap stories and settle in with your people. Good food, good drinks, good company - that’s what being a proper local is all about.
